Country of Origin: USA

Extraction Method: Steam Distilled
Properties: Antiseptic, Astringent, Diuretic, Emollient, Expectorant, Fungicide, Insecticide, Sedative, Tonic.
Mind: Nervous tension and anxious states benefit greatly by its calming and soothing action. This makes it a valuable aid to meditation through its reputation for steering strayed individuals back on the path.
Body: Beneficial for use on long standing complaints rather than acute ones. A combined tonic action on the glandular and nervous system helps put the body back into balance, thereby regulating homeostasis.
Its main effect however, probably due to its expectorant properties, is on the respiratory tract and may help ease conditions such as bronchitis, coughs and catarrh. Excess phlegm is curbed through Cedarwood's drying effect.
Also of importance to the genito-urinary tract reducing problems such as cystitis particularly where there is burning pain. Has a tonic effect on the kidneys.
Could relieve some painful cases of chronic rheumatism and arthritis.
Skin: Its astringent and antiseptic properties are of greatest benefit to oily skin conditions - could help acne. Also helps to clear scabs and pus and chronic conditions such as dermatitis and psoriasis. A good hair tonic and could be effective against seborrhoea of the scalp, dandruff and alopecia. Skin softening properties are enhanced apparently when mixed with Cypress and Frankincense.
Precautions: High concentrations may possibly irritate the skin. Best avoided during pregnancy.
