Mind: Warming to the senses particularly where there is a feeling of weakness and fatigue. Uplifting, refreshing and invigorating, clearing confusion perhaps.
Body: Particularly helpful with digestive problems especially of nervous origin. Can work as a laxative and deals with colic, wind, dyspepsia and pyrosis. Eases feelings of nausea and effective against bad breath as it deals with gastric fermentation. Encourages flow of saliva and stimulates loss of appetite.
May act on bile production since it reputedly diminishes bodily fats. Its diuretic action could be useful when difficulty exists in passing urine.
Its reputation as an aphrodisiac may perhaps be due to its tonic effect on the body possibly dealing with low sexual response. Certainly has been a remedy for impotence for some time. Also appears to ease feelings of irritation during pre-menstrual tension as well as headaches.
